As the longest serving U.S. Senator from Kentucky, it is long past time for Republican Mitch McConnell to retire. We’ll be sure to do our part and help him retire—by defeating him in 2020.
Mitch McConnell abused his power as Senate Majority Leader during Obama’s presidency to filibuster anything and everything he could, blocking almost all legislation supported by the president. He went even further, preventing the confirmation of President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland.
“One of my proudest moments was when I told Obama, ‘You will not fill this Supreme Court vacancy,'”

Now that Donald Trump is in the White House, McConnell has continued to abuse his power to advance Trump’s dangerous and radical agenda: attacking health care, passing Trump’s terrible tax scam, and ramming through radical Supreme Court nominees Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.
“Apparently there’s yet a new standard now, which is not to confirm a Supreme Court nominee at all. I think that’s something the American people simply will not tolerate.”

But there is good news. After years of creating gridlock in Washington, presiding over multiple government shutdowns, and having his Super PAC exposed for being tied to Russian money, the voters of Kentucky are finally seeing McConnell for what he really is. And it shows in his plummeting approval numbers in the state.
This is our best chance in years to send Mitch McConnell packing. And we must take advantage of it.
