Last Month, Republican Senators Pat Roberts (R-Kansas), Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming) and John Barrasso (R-Wyoming) introduced a bill to end the federal tax credit for EV purchases, and replace it with a new annual tax on EV owners.
Why would Republicans, who are supposed to be against taxes, want to do this? Here’s a possible clue: campaign finance watchdog OpenSecrets, has found that the Oil and Gas sector is a top financial contributor to all three senators.
