Republican Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa ran and won her seat in 2014 on a campaign focused on her humble working-class upbringing and a promise to cut “pork” when she got to Washington.
So what did Ernst do when she got into office? She proudly cast a vote to pass President Trump’s tax scam that hurts the same working-class families she grew up with, and provides tax cuts to wealthy donors and corporations.
We’re going to make sure that Joni Ernst is held accountable to the voters of Iowa for going against their values.
Iowa had been trending red in recent years, but that all changed after Donald Trump was elected. Ernst’s seat has become quite vulnerable. In 2018, Democrats flipped two of Iowa’s U.S. House seats, giving them a total of three out of four House seats in the state. Now it’s time to give the people of Iowa a Democratic Senator to serve along with them.
