Bill Cassidy (LA)

Republican Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana was elected to his first term in the Senate in 2014. Since that time, he has been a reliable ally for the agenda of Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell.

Cassidy not only helped to pass the Republican tax scam, but he forcefully defended the character of Brett Kavanaugh during Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation process.

Louisiana is known as a red state, but it has a recent history of electing Democrats to statewide offices. The state currently has a Democratic governor, and the seat Cassidy now holds in the Senate had previously been held by Democrat Mary Landrieu for 18 years.

As we learned in 2018, no Republican seat is safe with Trump on the ballot. And we’re making sure that Bill Cassidy knows his seat is no exception in 2020.
